Most matcha whisk stands are sized for wider, high-tine-count whisks—not for the thinner, more delicate profile of a Shin chasen.
The Halo is designed to fix that. Its open-centre ceramic ring holds your whisk by the handle so the tines hang freely and dry in open air, keeping the shape your whisk was built with.

- Open-centre ring design. Supports the whisk from the handle, not the inside. Tines hang freely and dry in their natural position.
- Sized for Shin chasen. At 6.5cm diameter, the Halo fits the narrower head of a Shin-profile whisk. Standard cone stands are proportioned for wider, 80-plus tine whisks and will often overstretch finer tines.
- Promotes faster drying. The open centre allows airflow around the tines from below, reducing the moisture buildup that leads to mould.
- Food-safe ceramic. Non-porous and odour-free.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
Rinse under warm water every few days. Matcha residue can build up on the inner rim over time. Do not dishwash. Store dry.

How is the Halo different from a regular whisk stand?
Most whisk stands are cone-shaped and hold the chasen from the inside, which puts outward pressure on the tines and fragile joints while they dry. Over time this can cause the tines to flare and lose their shape.
The Halo gently supports the outer tines instead, so the inner tines hang freely through the open centre and dry without any pressure on them at all.
Can I use the Halo with any matcha whisk?
The Halo is designed for Shin-profile chasens, which have a narrower head and finer tines than standard whisks.
While it will technically fit most regular whisks, it is not recommended for wider, high-tine-count whisks of 80 or more tines as they may sit too loosely in the ring to dry properly.
How do I clean the Halo?
Rinse it under warm water every few days. Matcha residue can build up on the inner rim with regular use, so a quick rinse as part of your usual routine is enough to keep it clean. Do not put it in the dishwasher.
Where are your products manufactured?
Our bamboo is sourced from Anji County in Zhejiang Province, a UNESCO-recognized bamboo biome and the world's largest purple bamboo growing region. Each whisk is handcrafted there by small studios that have been working this species for generations. Anji is to bamboo what Uji is to matcha.
